The American South

The W.E.B Du Bois Southern Center for Studies in Public Policy addresses issues of social justice, governance, liberation, oppression, political, economic, and gender that impact Black people in America and, in particular, in the American South through the interrogation, reframing, and developing of public policy. The Du Bois Policy Center conducts this work through research, advocacy, awareness, partnerships, education, policy evaluation, scholarly activism, and commentary. Our work is realized and brought to fruition through The DuBois Center’s publications, such as the Georgia Legislative Review and the Status of Black Atlanta, Black Papers, conferences, forums, symposiums, policy briefs, seminars, workshops, programs, and collaborations.
